School's Done. (New Mix)
Just some tunes for summer, bit less eclectic, but it gradually slows down.
Mr. Less- Schools Out (zShare)
Tracklist:
The Ronettes- Be My Baby
Pase Rock- Lindsay Lohan
Kid Sister- Pro Nails
Party Ben- Ooh La La Summer Nights
Go Home Productions- Don't Hold Back Sweet Jane
Shirley Bassey- Goldfinger (Propellarheads Remix)
The Avalanches- Since I Left You
Lily Allen feat. Wale- Smile (Mark Ronson DC Remix)
UGK- Int'l Player's Anthem
Brothers of Soul- A Lifetime
Lovage- Everyone Has a Summer
The Ronettes- Be My Baby
I hate all these fucking producer feuds nowadays in hip-hop, because every producer would lose to Phil Spector. He basically invented pop music and his antics put all the current hip hop artist's shoot-outs-in-front-of-radio-station stunts to shame. Did Timbaland ever threaten the fucking Ramones at gunpoint to play the same guitar chord for 8 hours straight?
Nope.
This is the best example of the famous "Wall-of-Sound" style.
Pase Rock- Lindsay Lohan
Hey, it has a entertaining chorus, to say the least. Plus, anything with Spank Rock on it is fucking hot.
Kid Sister- Pro Nails
I hate uffie. She's a talentess bitch who makes a otherwise awesome label (Ed Banger) look downright embarrassing.
Kid Sister is much better, and her beats don't sound like they crapped out of the early 90s.
Party Ben- Ooh La La Summer Nights
Just a fun song that fit with the theme pretty well.
Go Home Productions- Don't Hold Back Sweet Jane
Another fun song, mashing up Galvanize by the Chemical Brothers with Sweet Jane by the Velvet Underground. Nice guitars, some Q-tip rapping, and thats pretty much the perfect summer song. Its got a banging beat too.
Shirley Bassey- Goldfinger (Propellarheads Remix)
Take a classic, add some tight drums, guitar and piano backing to it, and you got a winner.
The Avalanches- Since I Left You
If you can find it, I highly recommend getting this album. Its the perfect soundtrack for summer.
Lily Allen feat. Wale- Smile (Mark Ronson DC Remix)
Wale equals hotness right about now, and now that he's getting some attention from Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen producer Mark Ronson, he might finally get some serious exposure out of DC.
UGK-International Player's Anthem
When me and Hutton went on the band trip to Chicago, this was basically the only song we listened too, other then some Isaac Hayes songs. I still haven't grown sick of it.
Brothers of Soul- A Lifetime
Just a really really nice soul song.
Lovage- Everyone has a summer
Hell, I can act like some depressed mother fucker longing for summer love too, goddammit!
Hold on....
